Nayikee T.Aarwolf by Nayikee Nayikee T.Aarwolf by Nayikee
Here's my fursona "Nayikee" He's an aardwolf who travels the
Savannah searching for his favorite food termites. He's kind of
shy by nature but can be friendly if he gets to know you.

I chose an aardwolf as one doesn't see too many on DA. This is
a colored version of the drawing I posted a while back. I'm still
in the process of developing his appearance and additional changes
will be made.

I love this style! It's so loose and it reminds me of Looney Tunes a little or some sort of nostalgic cartoon character

Thanks!:) (Smile)

I'm a huge fan of those old school Warner Bros. and Disney cartoon characters.
They've been a big influence on my style of comedic artworks through the years.:D (Big Grin)

I can tell and I think Warner Bros should hire you as a cartoonist

Ah. That would be my dream to become one.
I was thinking of offering to do commissions for my artwork.

I know my instructor's brother works at Pixar. I believe in the design or digital department and one of my classmates just got approved an internship at Pixar so don't give up on your dreams cuz they can be made into a reality. It's a proven fact.

Very nice character and a great drawing, as ever :-)

You're quite right, Aardwolves don't get enough love, so good on you for spreading it!

Thank you!:D (Big Grin)

I think that many people aren't aware that they
even exist. One rarely sees an aardwolf depicted
on DA. I find them to be fascinating little guys.:) (Smile)

You're most welcome :-)

I must admit, they'd kind of slipped my mind, but the lovely, bug eating, stripy doggies are certainly back for good now! Such charming little souls, with such expressionate faces :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they also the species which symbiotic relationship with a certain fruit, or is that maned wolves?

I believe it's the maned wolf. Although they eat small rodents and birds their diet also includes a large amount of various fruits. The one that they're most fond of
is a tomato like fruit referred to as the wolf apple. :) (Smile)

For now this will be the color scheme for his fur.
I'll continue to experiment with the colors as
aardwolves fur coats cabn range to black/grey to a light brown
with black stripes.

Hi:

Thanks! Not too many people even know of their existence.
Oh yes. They can deliver a most vicious bite when provoked.

Not to worry. Nayikee won't be bothering any of your termite farms.:) (Smile)

For those interested and who may be unaware, the Aardwolf is not a wolf, not even a canine. "The aardwolf is the only surviving species in the mammalian subfamily Protelinae." (wiki)
It's actually in the family Hyenadae and a distant cousin to the Civet. "Aardwolf" is Dutch-African for "Earth wolf".
Nice job, my friend. You're gettin' good!  Though for an Aardwolf, the ears are a little large, and too pointed. Other than that, Yay! Clap Clap

You're absolutely correct. Aardwolves are not canines whatsoever.
I based the ears on the idea of those on Wile E. Coyote. Chuck Jones
exaggerated them to the point that the ears hardly resemble those
of a real coyote.

However as he's a W.I.P. everything about him is subject to change.
