Yoyo by Nayikee Yoyo by Nayikee
Here's my version of Yoyo a character from "Simsala Grimm" a cartoon series from Germany. He's a
blue tailless coyote who along with his friend Doc Croc (A knowledgeable lizard.) go thru many adventures
together. The stories are from standard fairy tales the majority of them based on "Grimm's Fairy Tales" a collection
of German folktales. Although little known in the U.S. it is a very popular show thru out Europe and the U.K.
What I find puzzling is how can this coyote, (A new world mammal!) exist in medieval Germany???Nick - Icon

If it's based on Mythology's.. Coyote's are mischevious and have this nack of popping up everywhere.. in one of my RP's "Weird Stuff" can be explained by "Coyote Did It!"

You're right. In Native American culture the coyote is often portrayed as a trickster and
at times the fool. You're role plays seem to deal with some interesting subjects. Are they
based on the coyote tales as told by Native Americans?
(Sorry for such a late reply.)

Hi!

No worries about the late reply, it's good to hear from you! I hope you're well :-)

Our RP Game started off as Steampunk, inspired by this comic: kitfox-crimson.deviantart.com/…
However, I ran my coy-wolf charachter, Kerl, who can be seen around my gallery, on the basis that I could draw a little on the Native American folklaw which I'd gotten interested having read this excellent book: www.amazon.co.uk/New-Coyote-Fi…
From there, as the game progressed, the mythology element expanded and got inter-twined with European, Egyptian and a smidge of Russian, too!

From this point, Native American history mythos has been something of an interest to me, with about half my bookshelf space in my flat covering the topic!

Hi!:) (Smile)
I'm doing quite well. Thanks for asking about me. After I was able to read,(Hence such a late reply.) a couple of chapters of kitfox's comic. I can see why you drew such inspiration
to create an RP based on his wonderful writings and illustrations. He's quite the artistic fellow! That sounds like a very interesting RP. With all those cultural elements going on you've
many story lines that can be pursued! I've read many of the Native American tales concerning the antics of the coyote. I truly admire the animal. I've been involved in a few RP's myself.
But nothing as extensive as yours. If I may ask you could I become a member of your RP group? I realize that you might only be playing within a close circle of friends and that a new
inclusion might throw off the current story line. I'll understand if you wish not to consider me for a role. Nonetheless it was great to hear from you and in closing I hope that all will
continue to go well for you!:D (Big Grin)

Kind regards,
CosmoCoyote ^^

I'm glad to hear you're well, and that you enjoyed the comics! I still need to catch up with the current one, which has more potential.

In regard to the RP.. I'm not quite sure what to say, to be honest.
It started off as a multi-player RP, however, due to various RL commitments, it dropped down to being just three regular players. They put it on hold for the other players to come back to.. but they never did.

Meanwhile, myself and my other friend :iconfoxdevil1: had been running a side RP of our own design, bringing together our own charachters (here s15.zetaboards.com/The_Lobby/t…, if you're curious)

To provide background discussion, we'd had a fair amount of discussion in Personal Messenger (PM).. and then a chance comment morphed into a continuation of the original RP to continue a few charachter plot-lines of ours that hadn't been resolved (e.g. what happens when Sekhmet's representative on earth gets together with one of Coyote's. The answer, it seems, is mayhem.. unsurprisingly!).

So, lately, it's been more-or-less the two of us for quite a while now, with the exception of Another independent RP, actually based on this 'verse: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironclaw (in which, incidentally, Coyote's figure as mischevious figures.. can't think why!) that included :icongathered:

Therefore, for you to join, we'd have to start another RP, on the main board, and possibly reign it back to Kitfox.. which could actually be pretty good fun! I'll float the idea with Foxdevil and also take a look into digging out and using the promotional poster I commissioned a while ago (here: www.deviantart.com/art/Forum-p…), when I last thought of re-booting the place and then cancelled due to my own RL commitments.

So, in short.. i'm sure you'd be welcome to join the group, we'd just need to do a little bit of sorting out first!

Warm regards,
Kerl

Cool! I never heard of that cartoon. This character looks great in your style. :)
Well, then again, I have Irish raccoon characters, and they are not native to Europe. I don't think skunks are either. But, in a cartoon it doesn't matter, anything is possible. ;p

ever heard of a talking coyote! XD That was just my silly attempt at humor. ^^

Oh how I envy you. I attempted to purchase plushies of Yoyo and Doc Croc but unfortunately
nether the U.K. or Europe will send orders to the U.S. :( (Sad)  But nonetheless I wish to thank you for
making me to become aware of this wonderful series!:D (Big Grin)

Hello:
I think it is a very nice drawing :D . I indeed agree with a comment that the no-tail is a bit of strange but that is how the original design was made. It is very cool how you made the colouring so it will give the fur details for the character :) .

And indeed, I've never heard of that character or tv show before.

Yes. It is rather strange that he lacks a tail. He's portrayed as a toy that's
brought to life by the use of magic. It's FreyFox's opinion, (An awesome digital artist.)
that a mean spirited child pulled his tail off!:( (Sad)

Hello:
And you are welcome :) .

Mean spirited people can be found everywhere, as sadly as that is, but at least it was the tail and not the legs or arms o_O . But still a cute story, I like magic been used for cool things :D .

I like the outfit that takes this character (a reference to my style of SAGA Dreams). I love the design that carries, including having holes that adjusted to his ears. I like, even the character to take facial layers in his fur, only thing that disliked me this image that would be rare that he has not a tail, that made me misplaced. And that would be a lot somewhat humanized and a lot somewhat realistic for my taste, but I ignore a lot this for something cute and cartoonish. But that I fixed in the style of drawing that takes, that is just what I think.

Yes. I as well found the lack of a tail to be an issue. But that is the way the original artist
chose to portray him. I almost added a tail to my version but i felt that I must stay true to
the character's intended apperance. Nonetheless I respect your opinion.
